Virtual Event Check-in v2.0
We know that tracking attendance at events is so important — and virtual events are no exception!
In 2020, we announced a check-in feature for virtual events that allowed event planners to share their event and giving options with guests, only after they “checked-in” to the event.
In theory, everyone should have to check-in to get access to the event. But in reality, many guests are actually attending together — virtually!
If Jane and Bob Smith both register to your event but “attend” the event together, they are likely only going to “check-in” once.
So now, if a guest checks in and there are others in their party, they’ll be asked to select who is attending with them. If there are others attending with them who haven’t pre-registered, they can register during check-in.
We’ve also added an extra step to ensure that the person attending the event is in fact the one who registered, and not someone who received a forwarded email.
When “Checking-in” to your event, guests will need to verify their email. A code will then be emailed to them, which they will enter in order to access the page with your event and giving options.
With these new features in place, you’ll be able to properly follow up with those who attended, and those who didn’t.
Happy fundraising!
