An Update on v4: Where We Are and What’s Ahead
If you’ve been wondering when v4 will be ready, this post is for you. Some of our customers have asked questions about v4, and we’re grateful. While many of our customers continue to use v3 with great success, we know most are curious about what’s next. Today, we want to share a transparent update on our progress and how we’re planning to move forward.
Rebuilding with Purpose
Our vision for v4 has always been ambitious: a complete rebuild of FundEasy with a completely redesigned architectural foundation, allowing for more updates and designed to make life easier for you, now and in the years to come. We’re not just improving what already exists; we’re improving the platform to give you new capabilities, increased reliability, and a wider variety of choices.
As with any major project, this transformation comes with its share of complexity. Our team encountered a few significant challenges along the way, which slowed progress more than we anticipated. It’s been frustrating for our team to continue waiting, and we absolutely understand if you're feeling the same. We’re well down the path today, and we’re confident in our ability to deliver.
Why We Chose to Slow Down
When we realized we wouldn’t hit our proposed timeline, we had a choice: push something out before it was truly ready, or take a step back and do it right. We chose the latter.
Rushing to release a product that didn’t meet our standards (or yours) would have solved the short-term timeline but created longer-term problems. Instead, we’re building something that’s not only functional but transformative, helping to make you and your organization far more productive.
What’s Happening Behind the Scenes
We’re making meaningful changes to regain momentum and to ensure a successful launch:
Strengthening the team: With the support of some new and experienced board members, we’re bringing additional developers onto the project to help us move more quickly and effectively.
Reevaluating timelines: Once our new team members are fully up to speed, we’ll be able to provide a clear and realistic update on when you can expect each product (Attendance, Peer-to-Peer, Crowdfunding, and FundEasy Pay) to launch in v4. Transparency is critical for us, and we’ll share that update as soon as we’re confident in the details.
Improving long-term planning: Lessons from this project have allowed us to improve how we plan and scope our work and how we better serve our customers. We’ve already put these insights into action.
Looking Forward
We remain deeply committed to delivering a platform that supports your God-given mission and your events and fundraisers even as they increase in volume or complexity. V4 will bring meaningful improvements, both visible and behind the scenes, that will make it even easier for you to prepare and run your events.
In the meantime, we’re incredibly grateful for your confidence and your partnership. The majority of our customers are still thriving on v3, which gives FundEasy the runway to build a v4 that’s worth the wait. We are so proud to serve as your partner as you make a difference every day.
