Christine Reyes: A Legacy of Compassionate Leadership

Christine Reyes, the Chief Operations Officer at Life Network, has dedicated over 40 years to pro-life advocacy. Her journey began in the early 1980s when she and her husband, Raul, envisioned opening a pregnancy center to offer hope and support to women in crisis. After two years of fundraising and searching, their steering committee secured a modest 700-square-foot facility - a small waiting room, two offices, and a big dream.

Fundraising was challenging; galas and Walk for Life events were managed manually with spreadsheets and photocopied pledge sheets. The first Walk for Life raised $11,000, and galas generated up to $60,000, but tracking RSVPs and processing donations was exhausting. 

When Christine joined Life Network in Colorado in 2002, she encountered similar challenges on a larger scale.

The Challenge

For over four decades, Life Network has been dedicated to cultivating a community that values life through the love of Christ. Their mission is clear: to present the gospel, provide life-affirming alternatives to abortion, promote healthy choices, empower parents, offer post-abortion healing, and engage the community in advancing life.

As their ministry grew, so did the complexity of their fundraising efforts.

Life Network relied on banquets and Walk for Life events to sustain their work, but managing RSVPs, tracking guest lists, and collecting pledges with manual processes became overwhelming.

“We quickly realized if we were going to go head to head with Planned Parenthood [in our city], we had to add medical resources. And that all involves fundraising, right? You have to raise the money to hire the nurses to get the ultrasound machine. And that was quite a journey.”

Prior to their involvement with Life Network, Christene had this to say about their walks:

“Our first Walk for Life, I remember we raised $11,000. We started [the walk] at the pregnancy center, walked down the street on a main street and for about a mile and walked back into the parking lot of where the pregnancy center was. You know, and it was very, very basic.”

With staff and volunteers bogged down by administrative tasks, financial stability beyond event season was difficult to maintain. Life Network needed a more efficient way to engage donors and expand their impact.

The Solution:

In 2007, Life Network turned to FundEasy to transform their fundraising. After experiencing a particularly challenging banquet - where a blizzard disrupted attendance and their keynote speaker never arrived - they knew they needed a better system.

FundEasy provided the tools they were looking for, automating guest tracking, table assignments, and event communications.


By 2010, Life Network also implemented FundEasy’s Peer-to-peer fundraising, allowing Walk for Life participants to collect pledges online and share their stories effortlessly. What once took weeks of data entry was now streamlined, freeing the team to focus on serving their community rather than managing logistics.

“With Peer to Peer, we had a walk established and had already started using an online fundraising tool. I remember that the fundraising tool wasn't able to record offline donations, and it was not very user-friendly. Then FundEasy in 2010 came out with Peer to Peer and we adopted that.”

“And when [we learned] what FundEasy could do, we realized that this was a game changer.

“You want to project a professional appearance to all of your donors, and you want to make sure and communicate clearly. We just did not have the tools in place. Even finding a new speaker to replace our speaker, (and communicating [the change] that had happened). It gives people a poor perspective of your ministry if you don't have your ducks in a row and if you don't communicate clearly. And so that was a really difficult time.”

Their annual fundraising banquets expanded to two nights, welcoming 1,400 attendees and raising over $500,000 each year.

Walk for Life revenue grew from $184,000 in 2009 to an astounding $755,000 in 2024.

Improved Pledge Collection Rates

Life Network now operates four pregnancy centers, two thrift stores, and multiple support programs for fathers and young mothers.
