5 Ways to Encourage Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Supporters have amazing hearts and want to do all they can to help your organization during fundraising events. Sometimes, however, they get a little lost when it comes to HOW to fundraise. That’s why it’s so important to be prepared to encourage them in their fundraising!

5 Ways You Can Encourage Fundraising:

1) Be Ready

When someone inquires about your event, be sure you have somewhere to send them! Having an event webpage is key! Be sure it includes:

  1. Event information

  2. Information about your organization

  3. A clear call to action (participate or give)

With Peer-to-Peer by FundEasy, this is clearly displayed, and the Call to Action couldn’t be more clear! Supporters can click “Join us!” to support your cause, while Donors are directed to choose “Give” to sponsor a fundraiser.

2) Set a Goal

Have you ever heard the phrase “How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time!”?

The concept boils down to this - when something is so big that accomplishing it is daunting or overwhelming, it’s best to break the giant task down into smaller ones.

Hence - goals!

Your fundraiser undoubtedly has a big goal. Whether $300,000 or $30,000, the total fundraising goal feels unattainable for just one person to affect. But, 60 people each raising $500 is totally doable - and will allow you to reach that $30,000 goal!

Encourage each participant to set a fundraising goal that’s a little bit of a stretch, but still within reach. Having a concrete goal gives them a tangible number to achieve.

The fund-meter on Peer-to-Peer fundraiser pages “fills” toward the fundraiser’s goal in real-time, getting closer to the top with each new gift.

3) Encourage Personalization

When a Fundraiser page is personalized, it shows that the fundraiser is truly committed to their fundraising efforts. Encourage your supporters to personalize their fundraiser pages and to regularly write updates, keeping the page fresh and relevant. The results of an engaged fundraiser will far surpass those of someone who “just signed up” every time.

4) Spread the Word

Advise your participants to share their fundraiser page with their friends via email and social media. This is the fastest and easiest way to spread the word and jump-start donations. Easy share tools are built right into every fundraiser page and event webpage, making sharing super simple!

5) Be the Example

Be the first one to sign up as a fundraiser, customize your page, set a goal, use the share tools, and donate. That way, you have personal experience with fundraising and can encourage others by showing them how you’ve done things or by giving a personal example about how things worked for you.
