Creative Virtual Peer-To-Peer Events!
Creative Virtual Peer-To-Peer Events!
In this post we are so excited to share some outstanding examples of Virtual, Hybrid and/or social distancing style events! Our customers have creatively killed it this season and we are excited to highlight a few great events.
We have received tons of requests for examples of how other organizations have successfully pivoted and executed their events in this pandemic season. We’ve selected a handful of creative (and successful!) Virtual Events to share with you.
Let’s get started with Virtual Walks!
1. Virtual Walk for Life!
To kick it off we want to start by sharing the Miami Valley Women’s Centers Virtual Walk For Life. They raised over 90% of their goal (almost $200,000!) VIRTUALLY! Wow.
We'd like to highlight a few of the items this organization did exceptionally well, as you can observe on their event page. They shared relevant and powerful statistics, they intentionally acknowledged all of their supporting partners, and they also hosted a Live Walk event on their organization’s Facebook page the day of the event. You can go check their Facebook Livestream here!
Because Virtual Walks have been such a hit and are a common virtual event type, we thought we’d include a second example, The Pregnancy Resource Center of the NRV. As you can see from the event page, they shared an awesome testimony on the main page which helps to quickly draw people in with the mission and heart of the ministry! This organization also encouraged engagement by releasing videos weekly leading up to the event! They also thought to include a helpful FAQ section, where they answer some commonly asked questions, particularly as it pertains to a Virtual Walk. These are just a couple of the great ideas they implemented in their event!
Pro Tip: You might consider asking a client or someone your organization has served if they would be interested in being part of your fundraiser by creating a participant page! Encourage them to share their story if they are interested! Check out this participant's page featuring an amazing client story for inspiration. If you have supporters who don't want to participate, you can always encourage them to donate to a client page. Win, win!
2. Drive-In For Life!
Care Net Peninsula adapted their annual Walk for Life into a Drive-In for Life! We loved this fun idea! Check out just how they did this by visiting their event page!
This organization’s messaging is extremely well done, as you can notice through their clean, professional graphics and clear branding. Notice how EASY it is to identify what type of event they are having, the purpose of their event, and just how easy it is to get involved! When you are thinking about your event, you want to make it as simple, obvious, and EASY as possible for your potential registrants. This will save you time in the long-run! You want to remove any possible barriers between interested registrants and your event! So take the time to really refine your event’s messaging and graphics.
3. Crazy for Life!
Alpha Pregnancy Center hosted this fun and creative event! Check out their event page here! This event idea is a fun way to engage people and create community even amidst the pandemic. One of their participants went kayaking, another held a yard sale and donated all the proceeds, and another bench-pressed over 300 pounds! More creative ideas included Unicycling, Biking, Planking, Hula-Hooping, & much more! For an example of a participant page in action, go here.
We hope these examples and tips encourage your organization to continue empowering your supporters and making a lasting impact in your community! Of course, please consult and follow the current guidelines for your community and area regarding gatherings and events as you plan your upcoming events.
In case you missed it, we released a couple of blog posts recently about Virtual Event Options, and another all about how to execute an Online Baby Bottle Campaign!
