Introduction

Marsha Middleton is the CEO of Alliance for Life - Missouri, Inc. (AFL) which is a state coalition of pregnancy help organizations based out of Missouri. Their coalition serves to unite and support Pregnancy Resource Centers, Maternity Homes, Adoption Agencies and Abortion Recovery Ministries.

Alliance For Life has been using FundEasy’s Attendance software to manage their annual Pregnancy Help Conference since 2016. Previously, they had been using paper and email to manage their conference registration and attendance but found that as their organization grew, that was no longer a suitable option.

 The Story of Marsha and Alliance for Life

Alliance For Life became established 22 years ago with their goal being to bring, “a unified voice to the many LIFE organizations located throughout Missouri and beyond. Striving as one toward the core mission of saving and changing lives. Working to create an environment where abortion becomes unthinkable.”

“Missouri is home to many different organizations engaged in life-saving, life-changing work to bring a culture of life to our state. Not only are unborn babies' lives being saved, but women, men, and families are also being changed as they experience faith, hope, and love.

More than 70 of these organizations, serving in over 100 locations across Missouri and beyond, have networked together through the Alliance for Life to bring strength to this life-saving, life-changing work. As a network, the Alliance plays a vital role of advocacy, advancement, and awareness for our affiliate organizations within Missouri and beyond.

The Alliance unifies these individual organizations into a team that produces cooperation, collaboration and connection toward our core mission which results in our ability to impact Missouri for life in a much stronger way than ever could be done alone.”

Unsurprisingly, as their organization advanced (and technology too) they found themselves in need of an upgrade to their current conference management system.

Once they made the decision to upgrade from paper and pen event management, they landed on a goal to handle their conference registration online and found FundEasy to be the perfect tool to not only manage online registrations but also payment processing, check-in, and event attendance!

Managing Events Before FundEasy

AFL was previously primarily using a “paper and pen” conference management method, as well as utilizing email for registration and communication. As technology advanced and their organization grew, it became more challenging to keep track of registrations, event check-in, as well as all of the minute details that come along with planning a conference.

Thankfully, FundEasy was originally created around a fundraising model followed by many pregnancy centers and has been widely adopted as the software of choice for pregnancy center fundraising.

Because of this, the team was all too familiar with the struggle of managing a large event through spreadsheets and emails - especially when related to the function of a pregnancy help-based organization.

“We don’t use it for a typical banquet, so we have a little bit more detail to what we need for registration, but [it’s] been great for us. It makes it very easy for us to do our registration, as well as collect the money people pay online and then track and monitor who’s coming, and be prepared for everyone’s arrival at our event.
